Compassionate Hands serves around 20 individuals who are very ill or have severe disabilities. One of the families has a child with immune-deficiency that does not allow him to leave the house. This is one of the families that Compassionate Hands provides respite and help

Children are also taught to serve the community. In this video they have brought food to this elderly family and prayed for them

Pastor Yhosvanni explains how the lack of electric power affects daily life. ” We only get electricity for about an hour and a half during the day—and the same at night. It’s not even enough to call it two full hours. Sleeping is hard, and we have to get up at night when the electric power comes on to cook, wash, and fill the water tank. By morning, we feel sick from the heat and exhaustion.

Food goes bad fast. We lost some expensive chicken recently—so frustrating after spending so much. Meat and eggs are risky to eat now. We cook with charcoal when we can find it, or firewood when we can’t. I have a small generator, but I don’t use it much since it runs on gas and oil, which are both expensive and hard to find.

Church services are mostly during the day now—nights are completely dark. We’re just trying to get by. The Compassion Enhanced Project is helping a lot and being a real light in all this. I believe it can keep going, even without power. “

Solar energy will allow the church to be a central place for the community to learn about God, charge their phones and lamps, get respite from the heat, provide refrigeration for food. Be part of bringing ENERGY FOR LIFE.
